Job Description
RS Automation Engineering Department is looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and professional Machine Shop Manager to pioneer the development of our machine shop. This is a self-driven individual that will be charged with hiring, leading, and mentoring a team in this fast-growing environment.Required Skills and Abilities
Machining and engineering industry preferred.Ambition to own a process and continuously improve upon it.Ability to take constructive feedback with a mindset for constant learning.Excellent leadership, communication, networking, and decision-making skills.Leadership role model with ability to coach and motivate employees.Proven ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. Fusion 360 and Mastercam Multi-axis programming a plus.Consistent in use of professional verbal and written communication.Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, on call as needed.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.Education and Experience
High School diploma and AA Degree or completed trade school study relevant toward CNC machine management. BA preferred.Experience implementing, managing, and maintaining a shop floor with a 5S culture.experience in working with Haas 4 & 5 axis milling machines, Doosan and Star C & Y axis sub-spindle lathes.Experience with Boring and vertical mills for large parts on Fanuc and Haas VF-11 Controls a Plus.Hands on experience working Haas and Fanuc based controls.10 years' experience working in a highly dynamic, metric driven, close tolerance manufacturing environment, with responsibilities in machine operation, programming, and cutting tool selection and maintenance.Minimum 5 years' experience supervising machine operators, process, and equipment in a highly dynamic, metric driven, close tolerance manufacturing environment.Certified training in Haas and Fanuc machine controls, CAM programming software,Advanced knowledge of 5 axis CNC machine controls, with the ability to select, retrieve and run programs.Advanced experience in the selection and management cutting tools and specific tool application. (eg. reamers, end mills, boring bars, taps, drills, etc.)Strong / proven organizational and verbal communication skills, required to supervise multiple machinists, operators, programmers, and designers' processes and equipment within a dynamic manufacturing environment.Ability to read and understand detailed blueprints with advanced GD&T experience. Ability to manipulate and understand 3D models is preferred.
