Position Description: Ryerson has an opportunity for a Machine Operator position. As a Machine Operator you are responsible for operating different machinery live overhead crane or forklift, filling orders, and inspecting products with certified measuring equipment. This position is 1st shift. The hours for this Monday to Friday from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Roles and Responsibilities: * Operate a overhead crane, jib crane, forklift, and strapping machine * Material Handling- filing order requires employee to manually move material onto skid/pallet * Perform quality inspections- these inspections range from visually inspecting material while processing too performing dimensional checks of the material with certified measuring equipment *All employees are required to wear P.P.E. which consists of a hardhat, Kevlar sleeves, cut resistant gloves, safety shoes/boots, eye protection and hearing protection as needed * All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: * High School Diploma required * 1-3 years warehouse experience preferred * Certified fork truck experience preferred * Crane experience preferred (sheet lifter, chains, slings, hoists, or hooks) * Experience with hand tools for banding and packaging material * SAP experience preferred * Understand work order packaging specifications We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier.
