SUMMER CAMP DATES ARE JUNE 24th through AUGUST 29th, 2024.Summer Camp Lifeguards will maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas and will create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. All Staff will:Be paid a competitive wage.Attend 40 hours of mandatory training June 17th through June 21st, 2024.Work up to 40 hours per week, days and times may vary.Be eligible for a 10 week stay cash incentive. Able to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.Demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards. Working Conditions:Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility. Remain alert with no lapses of consiousness.Meets strength and lifting requirements. Sees and observes all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.Ability to walk, stand, for long periods of time. May require bending, leaning and kneeling. Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.Must be able to lift and assist children and adults in the water. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
