  Description:

  Position Purpose

  At Saint Mary’s Hospital, the Float unit is consisting of three med surgical units, Surgical, Oncology, and Ortho/Neuro. Apart of this team you will float throughout each of those units and provides care to patients with various medical, general, and orthopedic surgical or stroke/trauma related illness or injuries. Each unit has about 20-27 beds. You will engage with staff from the units and build relationships. Working on these three units will expose you to learn different types of nursing and become savvy with new skill sets. Working along seasoned nurses that may serve as mentors.

  What you will do

  In this critical role you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, play an active part in unit shared decision making, and enjoy practice autonomy using nurse driven protocols.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Education : Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

  Licensure : Current Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Connecticut.

  Certification : Active BLS

  Preferred Skills:

  Experience: Acute care, Medical-Surgical experience preferred.Work Schedule : Full time – 36 hours – Days
