   Licensed Benefits Advisor (Life, Accident, and Health)-Bilingual(English/Spanish)

   Job purpose: The Alight Professional Benefit Advisor is responsible for enrolling client employees in their core medical and supplemental insurance benefits offered, performing the role as an expert for up to 8 client groups.

  The Professional Benefit Advisor must secure and maintain Life, Accident, and Health licensing in their resident state in addition to other necessary states based on client needs. Alight will provide each Benefits Advisor with licensing in the necessary states.

  The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day between the hours of 8am-8pm Eastern Time.

   KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicates complex information to educate clients' employees on their benefit options and exclusions

  • Analyzes and evaluates client needs based on history (i.e., health, utilization) to determine best benefit option for their situation

  • Contacts employees to follow-up and resolve outstanding enrollment issues; inclusive of direct contact with internal client management team to resolve system issues or verification of eligibility for enrollment

  • Conceptualizes business problems, and utilizing basic problem-solving techniques to determine appropriate actions for resolution

  • Updates benefits in system(s) as needed due to status changes, qualifying life events, and acquisitions

  • Ensures organizational policies and guidelines are maintained, including providing accurate and up to date documentation of enrollments

   Knowledge and skills required

  • Broad-based knowledge of benefits administration, particularly Medical, Dental, and Vision plans, along with voluntary benefits such as short/long term disability, life and accident insurance, and other optional plans

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn and operate computer systems and software

  • Strong verbal communication skills and customer service orientation, highly professional within difficult situations that may arise

  • Excellent written communication, with a high level of detail and adherence compliance

  • Self-motivated and directed, focus on hitting goals for monetary compensation

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Very dependable and can be flexible with scheduling business needs change

  • Maintains high accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

   Education and experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred, HS Diploma required

  • 3+ years of Health Insurance, HR, or Benefits experience preferred, and required license in Life, Accident, and Health.

  • 3+ years of Customer Care (inbound/outbound) preferred, 1+ required

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

  Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate's experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $46,200.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $95,300.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
