About the Team:
We are responsible for providing legal support for Oracle’s contracts with public and private sector customers for all Oracle’s lines of business; contract disputes; compliance with business practices and provision of legal advice. We work closely with Oracle executives to negotiate and draft agreements with our customers, and often oversee the efforts of various internal groups in order to ensure that Oracle contracts align with company policies and applicable law.
Our attorneys have instinctively good judgment and impeccable integrity. We are seeking an attorney who can be a strategic legal advisor, and a true dedicated problem-solver.
About the Position:
As Legal Counsel, reporting to the Vice President and Associate General Counsel, ANZ, you will a close-knit team of skilled ANZ lawyers and work closely with the other ANZ, JAPAC and global lawyers and Oracle internal stakeholders to provide high quality legal advice and support. As part of this team you will have the benefit of working with experienced lawyers who can mentor and guide you to develop your experience as an IT lawyer.
We are looking for a highly motivated lawyer with:
2+ years of relevant experience
Law degree and admission to practice in Australia
Excellent academic credentials, with extraordinary writing and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with IT contracts
Experience in government contracting
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
Proven ability to undertake IT contract negotiations, evaluate alternatives quickly and provide top quality legal advice and support to executive-level clients
Good drafting and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities

Responsibilities
As Legal Counsel, you will:
Provide a full range of in-house legal services with emphasis on support to Sales and other stakeholders in our very diverse Lines of Business in Australia and New Zealand in their provision of cloud, software, hardware and services to both public and private sector customers
Advise and support Sales and other stakeholders on matters related to commercial contracts, dispute resolution and litigation, privacy, trade practices, general legal compliance and Oracle policies, practices, and processes
Draft, review, negotiate and provide legal advice on high volumes of public and private sector commercial contracts
Provide mentoring and guidance to sales and others on Oracle approvals, policies, processes, and compliance requirements
Participate in ANZ Legal Department initiatives as required, and collaborate with legal colleagues throughout Oracle locally as well as internationally
Conduct training for sales and legal staff, and other employees regarding commercial, compliance and other legal matters including Sales onboarding training
