  The Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) at Cornell University is seeking a faculty member to join our team of talented, passionate professionals committed to the vision of preparing the next generation of leaders. The Division's undergraduate program strives to provide rich classroom, research, and community-engaged learning opportunities for our students, including opportunities to develop in leadership and collaborative teamwork as part of their education. We are inviting applications for one (1) full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position, with teaching responsibilities beginning fall semester 2024.This non-tenure track teaching position is a twelve-month position, appointed three to five years, and renewable.This is not a remote or online position.

  We invite applications for one (1) non-tenure track research, teaching, and extension (RTE) faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. This position is in the broad area of public health nutrition. Responsibilities include teaching in existing offerings including in key introductory courses for our majors; collaborating with the Director and the Director of Undergraduate Studies to develop, deliver, and manage additional course offerings that advance our strategic priorities; and advising undergraduate students. In addition, this position will have responsibility for supporting work to advance our educational program goals. This may include assisting with incorporation of new pedagogies in the classroom, evaluation of student outcomes, and building and implementing more experiential learning opportunities.This position is ideal for someone with significant higher education experience and an earned Ph.D. degree who is passionate about teaching and student development. The teaching responsibilities will be at the Cornell Ithaca campus and the teaching commitment is comparable to two classes per semester and one summer session course.

  The successful candidate will contribute creative ideas to further the university's mission of teaching and will have the following qualifications:

  Doctorate in nutritional sciences, epidemiology, public health, biomedical sciences, social and behavioral sciences, or a related field.Track record of innovation and teaching excellence in higher education, and evidence of a thoughtful and effective approach to creating inclusive learning environments.Background in nutritional sciences or public health and/or experience working in a nutrition-focused academic or professional setting is preferred.A passion for seeing and developing every student's potential, and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for our students.The ability to make positive contributions to a team and bring out the best in others.

  The Division is a joint unit in the Colleges of Human Ecology and Agriculture and Life Sciences. We offer 3 undergraduate majors, a concentration in nutrition for biological science majors, and 2 minors. Our offerings are based in life sciences training and include elements of experiential learning and personal reflection. We seek to develop rigorous measures of our effectiveness including the cognitive and behavioral impacts of our educational program and we strive for innovation, excellence, and continual improvement in everything we do.   Pay Range:

  $49,700.00 - $122,000.00
