The Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations at Rutgers University seeks to hire lecturers who can teach a range of courses (i.e., Intro to Labor Studies; Youth and Work; Occupational Safety and Health;; History of Labor and Work in the U.S. 1880-1945;) in our undergraduate and graduate programs. The instructors will present course materials during assigned course times, hold office hours, administer exams, assign grades, complete assessment of student learning reports, and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction. Rutgers University is a leading research university that has a culturally-diverse student population of 67,620 students from all 50 states and more than 120 countries including 48,040 undergraduates and more than 19,580 graduate students. Our department offers courses online, in person in New Brunswick, and in person in a select number of off-campus courses in partnerships between Rutgers and Brookdale and Mercer Community Colleges.

Minimum Education and Experience
1. PhD, Law Degree, or Master's degree related to our program (for instance, Labor & Employment Relations, Sociology, History).
2. Preference for those with evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate, graduate or adult education levels.

  Immunization Requirements Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
