The role of the Leave of Absence and Accommodations Specialist is instrumental in fostering a seamless and compliant leave management process within our dynamic organization. They will take charge of a diverse set of responsibilities aimed at ensuring transparent communication, legal compliance, and an exceptional team member experience throughout the leave of absence (LOA) cycle.
This role will extend support to all five TAG companies, collaborating closely with HR Business Partners, Benefit Operations, HRIS, and Payroll teams. As a trailblazer, you'll contribute to establishing an internal LOA process for the first time at TAG and play a crucial role in implementing a new LOA system. This initiative is instrumental to our success!

Reporting to the Manager, Leave of Absence and Disability, this position is based in our Chicago, IL facility.

Essential Responsibilities
Handle the end-to-end leave administration process, from initial notice to return to work.
Maintain regular communication with employees on leave, facilitating a smooth return to work.
Provide guidance to managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with other benefits.
Engage with team members to understand their leave and accommodation needs.
Ensure awareness of responsibilities, required documentation, and notice for qualifying for leave/accommodations.
Initiate and manage the ADA interactive process, collaborating with team members, managers, and People Business Partners.
Educate managers on reasonable accommodations.
Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers' compensation, or other leaves.
Monitor internal administration of LOA, ADAA/CA FEHA, and Workers' Compensation.
Stay updated on all applicable leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, ADA, and state/local regulations.
Maintain accurate records of leave and accommodation requests while ensuring confidentiality of employee medical documentation.
Assist in suggesting improvements for Leave of Absence (LOA) software processes.
Collaborate on the creation of internal documentation to enhance the team member experience.
Perform day-to-day administrative tasks, including data entry, running reports, and LOA tracking in Excel.
Requirements/Qualifications
Experience : 3+ years of experience in leave administration, ADA compliance, or people operations.
Skills :
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Advanced time management and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Familiarity with LOA & HRIS systems is desirable.
Superior organization skills and detail oriented.
Proactive and self-driven with a focus on customer service.
Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
