The Learning & Engagement Manager is primarily responsible fordeveloping, implementing, and overseeing the Museum\'s educational andcommunity programs, community engagement efforts, and educationalcomponents of museum in-gallery learning. The Learning & EngagementManager reports to the Museum Executive Director. With the help of onedepartment staff member and volunteers, the Learning & EngagementManager will develop and implement a year-round education and engagementplan that reaches diverse learners. Job responsibilities include but arenot limited to: * Develop interpretation and programming tied totemporary exhibits and our permanent collection; * Facilitate SchoolTours with the Brockton Public Schools (approx. 3,000 children peryear); * Foster DEAI initiatives for museum audiences, in collaborationwith other museum staff; * Facilitate partnership and collaborationwith other organizations; * Supervise and manage studio art classprogram; * Serve as Department Head, with responsibilities includingplanning and budgeting; * Assist with fundraising efforts, includingdonor tours, grant writing, reporting, program sponsorship and generalfundraising, as required. * Provide programmatic content and calendarplanning for communications efforts; * Supervise one paid staff member,the Learning Programs Coordinator, who is directly responsible forstudio art classes, school tours, paid tours, and museum interns. *Train and manage education volunteers (Museum Educators) and interns; *Serve as staff administrator for the DARE Council; serve on designatedcommittees, including the Outreach Committee. * Identify newopportunities; stay updated with professional and standards; bringrecommendations to the attention of administration. We are looking forsomeone with a mixed skill set including: * 3-5 years minimumexperience in museum education or related experience in artsprogramming; familiarity with craft, contemporary art, and/or a broadgeneral knowledge of art history * Proven success in a small, nimbleorganization with limited resources; the ability to manage multipleprojects simultaneously * Understanding of the full range of currentmuseum education theory and practice; knowledge of current MassachusettsCurriculum Frameworks, Mass Arts Curriculum Frameworks, or familiaritywith similar standards. * Knowledge of program evaluation techniques.* Experience advancing and advocating for DEAI; shown culturalcompetency and the ability to advise, implement and grow DEAIcommitment. * Advanced interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence,and empathy * Excellent strategic, leadership, writing, communications,and organization skills * Competency in Microsoft Office 365 and GoogleDocs; basic graphic design skills desirable * Must exhibit an abilityto work as part of a team and to delegate when appropriate * Experiencewith managing a small staff * Volunteer management and trainingexperience * Conversational ability in Spanish, Portuguese, CapeVerdean Creole, or Haitian Creole languages desirable. Salary andBenefits The Learning & Engagement Manager position is a fulltime/exempt, salaried, year-round position at \$52,000 for 32 hours aweek (Tu-Fri, 9 am - 5 pm). Weekend and Evening work is occasionallyrequired to support scheduled programming. This position is primarilyonsite, and offers a flexible work schedule and the possibility of someremote work (up to 25% of scheduled hours).
