Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Learning and Organizational Development Specialist to work on our Nuclear Science and Technology team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located onsite out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
You will provide leadership and organization development tools to the Nuclear Science and Technology directorate within the Idaho National Laboratory while developing and providing NS&T leadership with development programs, products, and services targeted toward researchers, program managers and others as directed by the NS&T OD Lead.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist in the development and application of leadership and organization development, decision-making and facilitation tools and techniques to support several priorities
Complete organizational assessments to determine dynamics, issues and needs of the enterprise or any of its sub-elements
Determine specific program and customers' needs and expectations through assessments, surveys, and other interactions, including interviews, facilitation of group meetings and discussions; develop and implement interventions using an appropriate graded approach and process to meet program and customers' needs
Consult with Lead and management on organizational design.
Document the results of meetings and workshops including attendees, decisions, process, actions, and supporting information
Help develop and analyze alternatives, resources and technologies to ensure requirements can be sustainably met with the talent and organizational development strategic direction set by their lead
Provide coaching to managers and staff at all levels; and must adroitly work with and advise senior enterprise management and leaders.
Must have a complete understanding and demonstrated application of leadership and organization development principles, concepts and practices and directly contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques. Have an established technical expertise, serve as a resource to management, programs and customers of the enterprise or other agencies, and manages technically complex projects. Be an applied coach to all levels of staff and management.
Function as a Lead: managing the activities of project teams or other staff. Requires managing work tasks/teams and providing guidance and direction to other staff or team members.
Facilitate and lead multidisciplinary, integrated teams.
Interface with management and technical personnel at all levels.
*Minimum Requirements: * * Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years relevant experience OR a Master’s and 6 years relevant experience.
Preference for this position is an advanced degree and experience in research and development organizations, applying organization development, and facilitation approaches/methodologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of leadership and organization development and facilitation tools and techniques such as organizational diagnosis, development methods, change management, intervention approaches, surveys, interviewing techniques, team building, and process improvement.
