This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels – including streaming, linear, and theatrical – so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.
Job Summary:
You will be the technical lead for the data observability & delivery team with the Metadata Engineering group in the Media Engineering team.
Designing and leading implementation of metadata delivery back ends
Building data observability systems and building metrics to drive improvement
Implementing a data lake or aggregation solution to empower our ops teams to mine our data
Mentoring junior members of the team and developing best practices
Collaborating on architectures across the larger organization
Responsibilities:
Facilitate designs of well-architected solutions and build iteratively while maintaining agile best practices
Lead through metrics – understand application performance & costs, and push for better results
Take responsibility for quality delivery – keep an eye on how launches & build outs are progressing, and steer direction when needed
Build data aggregation solutions for data from a wide constellation of microservices
Utilize technologies like Springboot/Java, MySQL, Postgres, and AWS native resources (Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS etc) to build data-driven software applications based on business direction
Collaborate with front end developers to build great data visualizations
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 7 years of experience
7 years of software development experience and proficiency in Java, including knowledge of frameworks including Spring Boot
7 years of experience with relational (SQL based) and non-relational database (DynamoDB, Elasticache) technologies, and messaging technologies (Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, SNS)
Good understanding of data driven results through KPIs
The hiring range for this position in California is $149,300 -$200,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
