Job Title: Lead Manufacturing Technician
Location: Liverpool, NY USA
Reports to: Manager, Operations
Job Summary:
Thermo Fisher is looking for a talented Lead Manufacturing Technician to join our niche Cameras & Imagers team. C&I designs and produces specialized scientific and radiant hardened video cameras consisting of solid-state imaging systems applied in life science applications. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Technician will perform a variety of mechanical and electromechanical assembly operations on solid-state cameras and subassemblies according to established documentation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Mechanical assembly of components using a variety of hand tools.
• Interpret digital assembly work instructions and drawings.
• Inspect connections for accurate fit as components are being assembled.
• Assemble mechanical, optical, and electronic components and sub-assemblies in a Class 10,000 clean room environment
• Perform manual and automatic die attach, epoxy dispense and wire binding operations on a variety of solid-state imaging devices
• Complete delicate tasks while viewing materials under high magnification through a microscope.
• Operate digital multi meters, oscilloscopes, and frequency counters daily to facilitate the testing of product.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years proven experience in a relevant manufacturing environment preferred (preferably involving electronics)
Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to perform intricate manual assembly operations
• Ability to follow schematics, detailed work instructions and keep accurate records
• Familiarity with electronic industry quality standards such as ANSI/IPC-A-610
• Team player, willing to work closely with others on a wide variety of assembly tasks
• Knowledge of clean-room manufacturing best-practices considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $26.00–$29.00.
