　　GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE LEAD, HEADING

　　This position requires the ability to perform set-ups, and produce quality parts on multiple types of heading equipment. This employee can troubleshoot complex problems, and determine tooling adjustments needed to correct manufacturing problems. It is the team leader’s responsibility to oversee/direct the manufacturing activities within the department. To lead their co-workers, and assist in planning and scheduling of production in order to meet or exceed requirements and quality standards. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.

　　PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Perform and/oversee all machine set-ups within a group/family of equipment within prescribed time allowances.

　　Direct and oversee the activities of co-workers within the machine group to meet customer demands.

　　Troubleshoot all mechanical and process problems within machine group.

　　Work with tooling and maintenance personnel to maximize production efficiencies.

　　Train and assist other operators and department personnel as needed.

　　Suggest and implement process improvement ideas.

　　Perform machine maintenance such as oil changes and tightening of bolts.

　　Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.

　　Perform the duties required to record data for SPC, ISO/QS documentation.

　　Move material by operating forklift or using non-motorized devices.

　　All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

　　EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

　　Ability to set-up heading equipment as well as troubleshoot complex problems.

　　Ability to use all gages and gaging techniques required, as well as train others.

　　Thorough understanding of SPC.

　　Knowledge in ISO/QS requirements.

　　Ability to set-up and troubleshoot all equipment within the group/family.

　　Ability to consistently meet and exceed production and quality standards

　　Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation.

　　Good communication and teamwork skills.

　　Ability to identify complex problem causation and correct complex problems.

　　Use math skills for blue print reading, gaging and SPC.

　　Ability to work independently and to exhibit leadership through demonstrated performance.

　　Demonstrate the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine requirements to perform all work assignments efficiently.

　　Provide thorough, written communication as needed.

　　Required Hs Diploma/GED OR Relevant experience.

　　Fluent in English (both strong verbal and written communication skills).

　　2nd shift Monday – Friday 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. + OT
