  Summary:

  The Lead Technician will lead a team of field service technicians in operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, power inverters, and substation components.

  Requirements:

  Mentors and sets positive example for junior technicians.

  Collaborates with senior line managers for plant maintenance.

  Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.

  Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.

  Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.

  Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.

  Utilizes hand tools effectively.

  Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system.

  Manages site inventory.

  Develops and administers site operating plans.

  Develops and implements site safety plans.

  Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.

  Leads daily tailboards and conducts job hazard analysis (JHA).

  Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).

  Interfaces with project subcontractors.

  Represents RES in professional manner.

  Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.

  Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.

  Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

  Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

  Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.

  Presents, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

  Adheres to and ensures all site team members understands standard operating procedures.

  Leads and supports the site in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place.

  Leadership:

  Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.

  Manages one or more direct reports.

  Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.

  Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.

  Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.

  Employee Development:

  Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.

  Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.

  Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.

  Qualifications:

  High school/GED General education required.

  Associate’s Degreerelated Technical Degree required.

  Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.

  Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.

  Certification Infrared Thermography (any level) preferred.

  5+ years or more related electrical maintenance experience required.

  3+ years or more medium voltage electrical work experience required.

  2+ years or more high voltage electrical work experience required.

  2+ years or more managing/leading field technicians required.

  Intermediate

  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  Advanced

  Low voltage DC power systems

  Low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems

  Drawings

  Theory

  OSHA regulations

  Hand tools

  Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc)

  Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation

  Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)

  IV curve tracing

  ANSI/NETA MTS

  SCADA systems

  Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.

  Functional Competencies Include: Teamwork, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.

  Domestic travel 5-15% required.

  Valid Driver’s License required.

  Anticipated base salary range: $38.50 - $45.00

  The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
