Overview:
Develop materials and process for major components or major portions of Aircraft systems. Develops or improves/ qualify materials and products and facilitates manufacturing operations. Collaborates with cross functional team including the Business unit in USA. Meets program schedules and budgets.
Position: Lead Engineer (P2) – Materials and Process – Non-Metallics
Must have Skillsets: Engineering graduate with Adhesive, Sealants, Knowledge on polymeric materials, and manufacturing processes, Statical analysis. Engineering Change management process, Good Mechanical Technical knowledge and communication skills, Obsolescence knowledge, Stakeholder Communication, Documentation, Statical analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
B.E/B. Tech in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science.
Industrial experience: 4 to 6 years in Adhesive, Sealants and Paints.
Expertise in structure-function relationships of polymers/adhesives.
Strong technical knowledge adhesive formulations and hands-on develop materials and formulations that solve technical challenges during bonding process.
Experience in Adhesive testing and accelerated aging, service life prediction by Arrhenius modelling.
Experience with Adhesive/solvent/polymer interactions – Swelling, plasticization, dissolution, compatibility
Experience in characterization of polymeric materials and data interpretation (e.g. TGA, DSC, FTIR, DMA, other mechanical test methods).
A collaborative mindset, willingness to work with/resolve ambiguity, and a “proactive” approach to support manufacturing process.
Roles and Responsibilities -
Demonstrated ability to propose, design, and execute experiments and test plans, ultimately driving them to success against defined performance specifications.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Take technical ownership of projects and work independently to solve problems.
In process trouble shooting/ problem solving and verification/validation in process factors.
Characterize materials and adhesive, interpret data, and present results on a regular cadence to colleagues and management.
Write standard procedure by maintaining clear technical information and consistent documentation.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of material handling/deposition processes and workflows.
Apply technical knowledge and hands-on evaluating materials and formulations that solve technical challenges across multiple materials processing techniques.
Provide technical advice to cross-functional teams, influencing system development and creating shared awareness of technical possibilities and limitations within polymer materials.
Take the lead on supporting daily production and conduct improvement projects on production process/equipment and/or materials
Take part in process validation for production environment.
Analyze and interpret data; propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena, and design experimental studies to validate hypotheses.
Lead by example in the areas of safety improvement and the application of quality measures.
