Meta seeks a highly motivated attorney who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential to connect businesses and people to join our Monetization Legal Team. The position will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal product, engineering, operations, and business teams in connection with Meta's Business Messaging products across Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. The role will work closely with other subject matter experts within the legal department and will require significant cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across Meta. Lead Counsel, Monetization (Business Messaging) Responsibilities:
Analyze products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictionsProvide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across many subject areas including data protection laws and regulations, international competition law, intellectual property laws, and other global legal frameworksHelp drive consensus and coordinate with public policy, partnerships, communications and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issuesWork cross functionally with attorneys from other legal teams such as privacy, regulatory, commercial and litigationMinimum Qualifications:
J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (including at a law firm or in-house experience)Experience working independently and cross-functionallyExperience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environmentProven problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in-house at a technology companyExperience working with enterprise tools, developer platforms, messaging services or other Internet technologiesExperience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platformsExperience in product counseling and data protection related international frameworksAbout Meta:
