This is a key role in the Dublin Securities Services Legal team, working closely with the product desks across Europe, acting as an important partner to provide advice and assistance at all stages of the product lifecycle.

Funds Services : Global Fund Services is a key division of Citi Securities Services which offers a full range of fund services for traditional and exchange traded funds, supporting multi-asset classes, including fund accounting, transfer agency, passive currency overlay (including share-class and portfolio hedging) and other ancillary services.
Depositary : The Depositary business offers regulated cash and securities monitoring and compliance and oversight services, as well as trustee services to regulated funds.
What you'll do
The overall objective of this role is to advise on and manage the legal risk pertinent to the Fund Services and Depositary businesses. As a Senior Vice President, the successful candidate will be reporting into the EMEA Head of Fund Services and Depositary Legal on all issues and points of concern relevant to these responsibilities.
Supporting the lead lawyer for EMEA Fund Services and Depositary Legal.
Provision of legal advice to the Funds and Depositary Businesses throughout Europe (with particular focus on Ireland, the UK and Luxembourg) including general advice and negotiation and drafting of funds and depositary related contracts and development of relevant templates.
Identifying risks inherent in the business and working with colleagues to mitigate them.
Negotiation of documentation with clients, acting as a “relationship lawyer” for key negotiations.
Building relationships with various internal stakeholders such as local legal counsels, product, risk, relationship managers and implementation contacts.
Advising on key legal/regulatory issues and regulatory change, including in relation to e.g. UCITS, AIFMD, CAR, GDPR and MiFID II.
Assisting the Depositary & Fiduciary and the Funds Businesses to implement new initiatives including assistance with new product approval processes and RFPs.
Legal research and analysis of regulations impacting the Depositary & Fiduciary and Funds Businesses advising on significant regulatory developments such as AIFMD and UCITS V.
Management of external counsel.
What we'll need from you
Previous relevant experience working in a fast-paced corporate legal department, law firm, financial services or related industry.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree standard and will have obtained an appropriate legal qualification.
The successful candidate will be well versed in financial markets law and regulation, including in relation to key fund regulations such as UCITS/ AIFMD.
Knowledge/Experience:
Specific UCITS/AIFMD regulatory and relevant transactional experience.
Experience in private practice and/or in-house of drafting, structuring and negotiating fund related documentation.
Broad knowledge of financial services legal and regulatory issues globally and knowledge of fund legislation across the EU.
Strong relationship management of key legal and business stakeholders.
Credible in front of senior management
