HYBRID ON-SITE IN MECHANICSVILLE, VA
LONG-TERM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY
This position calls for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst/Coordinator with experience coordinating the work of other BSAs across multiple efforts of various sizes. Suitable candidates must be a self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment to meet the needs of multiple business lines and supporting a portfolio comprised of a wide variety of custom applications and third-party platform integrations.
As a BSA/ Coordinator you will support delivery of software solutions resolving break fix, enhancement requests and small projects to ensure the health and cohesion of the 30+ highly complex software applications.
You will be responsible for assisting in the organizing, tracking, and coordinating work across a cross functional team of software developers, BSAs, and QAs through the design, development and implementation of software development solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Serves as a Senior BSA during the fulfillment/resolution of requests
• Coordinates and implements improvement efforts at the direction of the BSA Manager and department leadership.
• Monitors the in-take queue for new requests and incidents that need to be triaged.
• Partners with the BSA Manager, PMO resources and other IT Teams to ensure that requests received in the in-take queue meet the criteria for work and are routed accordingly.
• Prioritizes and obtains required information needed to triage new requests and/or assign to other BSAs as needed or bandwidth allows.
• Hosts and facilitates triage sessions for new requests and incidents.
• Creates/updates existing JIRA issues based on the outcome of triage meetings.
• Participates in triage meetings as the BSA Lead, serving as a business process and system subject matter expert.
• Assists the BSA Manager with release planning (updates JIRA, sends notifications, etc.).
• Collects and compiles metrics for requests as needed for business & internal IT reporting.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for production issues/questions for other IT teams.
• Acts as the point of contact to the business for production-related items that need immediate support.
• Analyzes and brings allocation/resource needs to the attention of the BSA Manager as issues arise.
• Assists the BSA Manager with release planning (updates JIRA, sends notifications, etc.).
• Enforces standard deliverables (such as documentation) and JIRA best practices
• Serves as the first level of escalation for problems/issues that arise during the execution of work.
• Validates and shepherds requests through the CAB and release management processes.
• Escalates problems/issues as needed to the BSA Manager.
• Responds to request status inquiries.
Required Experience:
• Performing & appropriately scaling BSA-related tasks & activities for work efforts of various sizes (from small maintenance items and defects to large projects).
• Analyzing data to determine the root cause of business problems and/or identify trends or opportunities for process improvements.
• Clearly identifying and specifying the business need and intent through various elicitation and analysis techniques.
• Effectively documenting and communicating business need and intent to both technical and non-technical resources.
• Formulating and documenting well-formed user stories with detailed acceptance criteria
• Coordinating the work of other BSAs.
• Partnering with and resolving team conflict across other technical teams such as quality assurance and development.
• Full SDLC experience.
• Project and maintenance stack BSA experience.
• Mentoring or coaching more junior BSAs.
