Our client, an industry leader in the designing, manufacturing and servicing of components and systems for the aerospace industry - is seeking for a Lead Aerospace Engineer that will design and optimize Hydraulic actuation devices for Aerospace applications. Key qualifications include 5+ years of Mechanical and Project Engineering experience, including design experience utilizing 3D CAD software in the aerospace, hydraulic, or vehicle industry environment OR Master's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the aerospace, hydraulic, or vehicle industry; and 2+ years experience implementing hydraulic product design and testing in a plant environment. Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.

responsibilities:
Engineer's primary responsibility: Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development and improvements.
Decision-making authority for Mechanical Engineering, guiding IPT technical decisions and achieving objectives.
Works with IPTs to design, analyze, and implement product designs throughout the product design lifecycle.
Leads efforts to solve problems in product design, inspection, manufacturing, and testing.
Plans, organizes, controls, and leads multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring accomplishment of project objectives.
Creates, updates, and interprets project schedules, communicates changes to Engineering Leadership and IPTs.
Supports targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules.
Participates in resolving program change of scope issues with Project Engineering and Program Management.
Serves as the primary technical contact for cross-functional teams, liaises between Engineering and internal/external customers.
Creates design standards, technical documents, including Engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards).
Presents product design and analysis to customers and management.
Provides technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to co-workers, gives direction to other engineers on project teams.
Ensures standardization of product design and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects.
Supports continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures.
Proactively collaborates with peers and managers, determines key goals and objectives, reviews and amends actions.
Focuses on the timely achievement of goals and objectives.
Interprets engineering documents and coordinates the creation and update of engineering documents.
Participates and leads studies for cost reduction and first-time yield improvement.
Leads and participates in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
Provides engineering input and technical expertise for failure investigations and customer-returned hardware.
Create, develop, and guide the creation of design standards, technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Present product design and substantiating data and analysis, design findings and recommendations to customers and management.
