Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) providesintegrated behavioral health as a key member of the care team in varioussettings. The BHP abides by guidelines and expectations specific to thesetting in which they provide patient care. Services will be provided in anAmbulatory Care Services (ACS) clinic or a school-based center with afocus on therapeutic interventions across the lifespan. Services include briefevidence-based treatment for psychiatric disorders and assessing psychosocialfactors in patients with chronic medical conditions and may include substanceabuse screening and treatment. The BHP provides as needed: case managementand consultation, case coordination to facilitate referrals to specialtycare, and crisis intervention.
Essential Functions:
Provides high quality clinical services to referred individuals, includingshort-term evidence-based interventions, support services, andcollaboration with other teams as needed. (70%)Conducts brief diagnostic screening of patients using evidence-basedassessments and screening tools. (5%)Provides health behavior change interventions using Motivational Interviewing.(5%)Consult with providers as part of the interdisciplinary team and generaterecommendations, referrals, and case management as needed. (5%)Conduct safety and risk assessments as needed. (5%)Generate documentation of assessment and intervention in the medical record ina timely manner. (5%)Provide education, treatment, and referrals to family members asappropriate. (5%)Education:
Master's Degree from a certified Master's program in psychology,counseling, social work, or other related human services degree.RequiredWork Experience:

Performs patient care in accordance with evidence-based clinical framework;achieves high standards of care through the implementation and supervision ofevidence based services and application of clinical policies and proceduresfor all patients and staff within a variety of BHS clinic settings.Knowledge and the ability to audit for compliance of State, Federal andAgency mandated documentation.Possesses critical thinking skills that lead to the identification of thestrengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approachesto problems.Provides both clinical care and basic administrative assistance.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word.Advanced knowledge and skills in effective psychological practice in primarycare medical settings, including evidence-based, brief therapymodalities, crisis intervention, and risk assessment.Knowledge of patient populations' cultural, religious, ethnic, andsocial systems in interactions, care planning, and education.Knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, diagnoses, treatment, andprognosis.Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamicinterdisciplinary team in various settings.Skill in providing care appropriate to the age of the patients served withinthe clinic setting.Skill in establishing a therapeutic alliance and engaging the patient incollaborative goal setting and prioriti ing patient needs as part of the careteam in the primary care clinic setting.Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate it into practice.Ability to manage the therapeutic relationship including triaging patient tospecialty mental health services and termination.Ability to respond to trauma or psychiatric emergency including writinginvoluntary mental health holds.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population andcommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.Ability to...
