Position Summary
The Engineering and Engineering Technology Department at Metropolitan StateUniversity of Denver is currently seeking a Laboratory Coordinator. Thelaboratory coordinator is responsible for supporting the faculty and studentsof the Computer Engineering (CPE) and Electrical Engineering Technology(EET) Programs. Responsibilities
Duties will include, but may not be limited to, the following:Maintaining a safe and secure CPE/EET laboratory environmentTesting and repair of all CPE/EET laboratory equipmentMaintaining an inventory of all CPE/EET laboratory equipmentDeveloping and implementing a preventive maintenance schedule for all EETlaboratory equipmentOrdering necessary CPE/EET laboratory equipmentMaintaining an appropriate inventory of necessary electronic components andsupplies for all CPE/EET laboratory coursesOrdering necessary parts and equipment and suppliesAssisting professors with laboratory preparation including laboratory setupCoordinating with Engineering Technology Department chair and programcoordinators to manage CPE/EETlaboratory budgetCoordinating with EAET department chair, CPE/EETprogram coordinators andCPE/EETfaculty to make decisions regarding upgrading of existing laboratoryequipment as program budgets allowMaintaining and upgrading, as budget allows, all CPE/EET laboratory computersMaintaining the CPE/EET software library while coordinating with theInformation Technology (IT) department to keep all software installationsas current as budgetary constraints allowCoordinating with EAET department chair, program coordinators and faculty tomaintain an appropriate selection of software programs on EAET computersCoordinating, training, and supervising CPE/EET work study laboratorytechniciansCoordinating with manufacturers of classroom technology hardware to maintainand repair instructional technologyProviding assistance to new affiliate faculty with CPE/EET classroom andlaboratory technologyMaintaining CPE/EETprogram website and updating as neededMaintaining smart boards, smart screens and Audio/Video equipped classrooms, such as desk top and class room cameras, data projectors and smarttouch screen displaysTeaching one introductory course per semester, such as EET 1001 or CPE 1040Other duties as assigned by the EAET department chair and CPE/EET programcoordinators
Required QualificationsMinimum of an Associate's of Science degree in Electrical EngineeringTechnology, Science, or a closely related discipline plus four years ofre ated experienceFamiliarity with basic electronic test and measurement equipment includingoscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzersDemonstrated experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair ofelectronic equipmentProfessional experience writing technical specifications and proceduresA working knowledge of Audio/Video equipped classrooms, such as desktopand classroom cameras, data projectors, and smart touch screen displays,as well as web development toolsStrong communication skills
Preferred QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a closelyrelated disciplineA working knowledge of National Instruments LabView, Quartus II, Multisimand MATLAB software, C programming, Python
