About the role!
The Lab Asset Manager will be responsible for oversight of all laboratory assets in the client’s San Diego facility. This will include managing asset lifecycle from asset request through disposal, managing scientist requests as well as interfacing with the related teams and vendors to maintain the Asset Management database.
What you’ll do
Full life cycle of asset management: from acquisition to decommission, disposal and disposition of assets and updating the CMMS.
General vendor management partnerships with various third-party vendors
Identify aged assets and align with clients sustainability projects
Maintaining capital assets throughout the client’s facility. Accurately uploading information into systems with proper accounting information and POs
Managing new equipment requests
New CapEx Equipment Planning: approval and placement, coordination with vendors and scientists, and asset planning & forecasting
Maintaining asset database: track asset maintenance, tracking warranty information on equipment, new and decommissioned equipment, and equipment ownership & location
Run quarterly/semiannual asset alignment process with finance: decommissioning and Documentation, depreciation and reconciliation of assets with finance.
Running yearly equipment cleanups: Scientist Directed Equipment cleanups and low-use Equipment identification
Coordinating off-siting of equipment as needed. Running quarterly assessment of off-sited equipment for disposal and donations of equipment
Establishing Sash Monitoring Protocol & Analysis
Promoting best Asset and equipment management practices
Watt-IQ management: Installation oversight, BSC monitoring and equipment utilization
Shared Equipment Zones management, Ownership, & Cleanup (Future State)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelors degree in a business discipline helpful.
Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training.
Must have experience in maintaining accurate records of complex lab equipment assets.
Some exposure to laboratory or scientific settings preferred, not required.
Prior CMMS experience strongly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Strong computer skills to include Excel and other asset management applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
