Served on active duty for over 180 days for purposes other than training and an honorable discharge or under conditions in the NYS Restoration of Honor Act. A copy of your DD-214 and/or a NYS Restoration of Honor Act letter will be required at the time of interview; OR2. Was discharged from active duty because of a service-connected disability; OR3. A member of a reserve component in the U.S. Armed Services under an order to active duty during a period of war or in campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge is authorized and an honorable discharge or under conditions in the NYS Restoration of Honor Act; OR4. Was discharged by reason of a sole survivorship discharge.Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.70.4 Transfer Qualifications: Candidates with one-year permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, who have a bachelor’s degree, who have taken and passed the most recent examination for Labor Services Representative (LVER), Trainee 1, AND who meet the additional veteran specific minimum qualifications described above may qualify for transfer to Labor Services Representative (LVER) Trainee 1, NS eq. Grade 13.Degree must be awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Provisional Qualifications:Must have a bachelor's degree or higher, and must meet one of the following criteria for Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces:Either 1. Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:Incumbent will conduct outreach to businesses and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans; encourage the hiring of disabled veterans, and generally assist veterans to gain and retain employment.The duties assigned to LVER staff members will promote to businesses, business associations, and business groups the advantages of hiring veterans. LVER staff members will advocate for all veterans served by the Career Centers and ensure easier access to appropriate employment and training services for job seeking veterans in their local market areas.
Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the salary range listed above.
