Lab Technician/Quality Control Specialist
Schedule is:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
5:00am to finish (end time will vary upon workload each day)
Requirements:
Follow the directives of the Service Supervisor/s.
Follow all of the company’s rules and regulations for bio security, animal welfare, and safety.
Work successfully as a team to work towards achieving the company’s goals.
Be organized to ensure the tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Successfully interact with individuals within the company and develop a productive working partnership with employees.
Accurately handle and assess the required paperwork.
Be flexible and have the ability to work other positions as needed.
Be knowledgeable about the quality assurance process and know how to analyze the MCP service of poults.
Be physically able to perform the job duties.
Handling of live poults will be required.
Be exposed to humidity, dust, chemicals, and fumes.
Occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
Walk and use hands for the entire work shift.
Bend, stoop, and squat to complete job duties.
Be available and willing to work an extended workday and other days as needed.
Responsibilities:
Follow pull order when choosing a flock to service.
Use Hatch Calendar to recognize customers and what each will require for MCP Servicing (QC sheet will have preference for each customer and how they prefer their poults).
Responsible for knowing what a cull poult is.
Responsible for tracking QC on every machine around the ring as well as poults per hour.
Observe hen line while poults are running to continue QC after your machine checks are completed.
Ensure the poults in the hatchery meet company standards.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Mixes and prepares vaccinations for the customer’s orders.
Prepares AV bags to be used for poult orders.
Takes care of inventory of the Hatchery Lab and ordering.
Assists Service Room Supervisor.
Prepares and prints delivery tickets.
Prints NPIP’s, 7 day mortality sheets, and labels for boxes.
Performs hatchery bacteria monitoring.
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
High School diploma is preferred.
Prior experience with animals or other livestock preferred.
Previous experience in a quality assurance role desired.
Ability to communicate verbally and listening with others. Bilingual English-Spanish speaking ability desired.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Ability to perform job duties while wearing Personal Protective Equipment required of the position.
Willing and able to work an extended workday and or weekend when needed.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
