Kindergarten Teacher (Maternity) *Candidate needed to fill position while the current teacher is on maternity leave POSITION TITLE: Kindergarten Teacher (Maternity) POSITION SUMMARY: A Kindergarten teacher is highly qualified and an Indiana State Certified teacher with a Kindergarten Endorsement responsible for delivering the Common Core State Standards and the SBCSC curriculum in a differentiated, general education learning environment. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal DUTIES: A teaching candidate must fully implement the kindergarten curriculum, following corporation provided instructional resources. Additionally the teacher will: Plan lessons, provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, focus on students’ individual needs and assess student growth Maintain a safe classroom and appropriate classroom management Make parent contact as necessary to advance each child’s learning Complete and maintain all required student records Utilize the SBCSC technology, as required. Other duties which will be assessed include: Using a variety of teaching strategies to engage students in the learning process Structuring the classroom environment to maintain student interest and engagement Maintaining professional responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating the process of learning by attending and participating in required staff meetings/ staff development Working together with the grade level team QUALIFICATIONS: License with Kindergarten Endorsement and be Highly Qualified CONSIDERATIONS BY ADMINISTRATION: Maintains regular, documented communication between home and school Utilizes technology to enhance the learning environment and differentiate instruction. Works in standard office and school building environments. Candidate must be able to: Work regularly scheduled hours Handle stress COMPENSATION: Starting salary in the Empowerment Zone will be $45,200.00 for SY23-24. Compensation increases with experience, and education. For example, a teacher with 4 years of experience can earn $46,614, a teacher with 8 years of experience can earn $51,816. There are also several stipends that staff are eligible for: ENL certified teachers who are using their certification in classroom teaching receive a $5,000 stipend Teachers with 12 or more years of experience receive a $5,000 stipend Moreover, there are additional stipends for staff that participate on various teacher leadership teams.
