Title:
Junior Engineer
KBR is seeking a Junior System Engineer to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN). The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of engineering work in the sustainment of an operable system capable of meeting project scope within imposed constraints including cost and schedule.
Supports design integration to ensure subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.
Performs functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance specifications and requirements.
Follows existing processes and standard procedures in carrying out assignments associated with research, design, development or analysis of specific parts, components, interfaces, or minor phases of a project.
Coordinates with other technical personnel in solving technical problems, fabricating equipment, gathering information, formulating plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications.
Provides assistance to higher level engineers on assigned work and translates technical guidance and data received into usable information applicable to the particular assignment.
Receives direction from higher level engineers and executes the technical plans specific to the design and development, installation, testing and integration of systems and subsystems. Supports research studies necessary for the improvement or reconfiguration of systems or subsystems.
Works collaboratively with technical personnel from other departments to achieve projects goals and meet schedule deadlines. Assists in compiling and preparing comprehensive technical reports and proposals.
May participate as a team member of multiple teams; may act as primary intra-organizational liaison. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Travel approximately 25%, but upwards of 50%.
BS degree in engineering or applied science with zero years of experience.
Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
BS degree in engineering or applied science with zero years of experience.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
BS degree in engineering or applied science with 2 years of experience.
Basic Compensation:
Salary Range: 68,000 – 85,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
