TITLE:
Jr. Supply Chain Purchasing Agent - GLW
OVERVIEW:
Purchasing Agent is responsible for negotiations with vendors for the purchasing of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services used for the development and manufacturing of concrete and construction to help our business grow.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Negotiate purchase prices and delivery terms on productsFollow-up to ensure that purchased items are delivered as promisedKeep necessary inventory on hand for customers; anticipate future inventory demands without overstockingHave an understanding of what product should be in stock during what seasonMaintain positive working relationships with vendorsKeep meticulous records on all transactions and submit them to our accounting department monthly for auditingInform vendors of our purchasing requirements and ensure all tasks are fulfilled, from producing new keys to providing maintenance recordsCommunicate with warehouse of incoming materialsDirects the purchase of all product lines and on-stock inventoryAdminister the inventory control and re-buying functionNegotiates prices and makes purchases of quantity items in relation to the best purchase price, discounts, terms, and deliveryExpedites stock orders, special orders, and direct shipmentsReview and evaluate special/non-stock ordersAdjust and solve problems with suppliers, review supplier invoicesManage the transfer of product from branch to branchAdvise Management of vendor promotions, specials, new products, policy changes, etcKeep abreast of industry trends, attend trade shows and conventions, or seminars beneficial to company's industry.Maintain current price information, product catalogs, and all specification information.Review all back orders and expedite appropriately
COMPETENCIES:

DEGREE:
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or comparable years of experience
