　　APTIM is seeking mechanical engineers to join our team of engineering professionals serving our Government and Commercial programs.

　　Engineers will apply critical thinking skills to initial planning, procurement support, plan development, design, construction and commissioning phases of projects. APTIM expects our engineers to be creative problem solvers and actively look for the best way to support our varied Government and commercial clients. Engineers will often work on multiple projects simultaneously and perform other duties as required. This position will require prior knowledge of the engineering and construction industry. Understanding of basic corporate mechanisms such as scopes of work, construction safety protocols, and experience in a professional work environment. Engineers typically serve the projects in both the field (domestic and international assignments) and the office, as necessary.

　　Key Responsibilities:

　　A seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of mechanical engineering resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways

　　Experience is ASME B31.3 Process Piping and B31.1 Power Piping

　　Experience in Pipe stress analysis using Caesar

　　Piping Load Calculations and working with Structural Engineering for Piping Supports

　　Pipe Sizing calculations and pressure drop calculations

　　Hydraulic Equipment sizing and specifications, expansion joints, pumps, tanks, valves, for chemical plants, water treatment facilities, HVAC systems chilled water, steam and associated equipment.

　　Broad application of principles, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering, plus working knowledge of other related fields

　　Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

　　Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

　　Development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering.

　　Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.

　　May perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of lower level personnel

　　Contributes to a team environment. Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues.

　　Break complex technical tasks into manageable subtasks.

　　Travel to site locations to provide engineering support, meetings with clients, and meetings at other company offices to support engineering efforts.

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　Requires Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 -- 5 years related experience.

　　Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and technical engineering software, some CADD experience (AutoCAD, REVIT and/or MicroStation) along with good verbal and writing skills.

　　Candidates must be willing to travel for infrequent field assignments.

　　Mechanical, plumbing experience is a plus

　　Nuclear experience is a plus

　　Field experience is a plus

　　Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a background check to gain access to government facilities

　　FE and EIT candidates preferred.

　　PE is a plus

　　Ability to work independently and in a diverse team setting

　　Willingness to work across Engineering disciplines

　　Strong multitasking skills

　　Strong problem-solving skills
