  CLASIFICATION (FLSA): þ Exempt o Non-Exempt

  GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provide individual assessments, mentoring, and job placement activities to participants at each of the club sites. Coordinate supportive services for each participant enrolled in the program to help them overcome their barriers to employment and be placed in a job or internship after training. Work closely with the Site Coordinators and Case Managers, tutors, and staff to facilitate service delivery and make the final employer-to-graduate connection for job placement.

  TASKS AND DETAILED WORK ACTIVITIES:

  Identify and coordinate internships and/or job placements for program graduates.

  Promote employer's participation in offering feedback on the BGCPR curriculum to ensure its continued relevance for employer needs.

  Develop and maintain internship agreements and contracts or work experiences with institutions, agencies, and other entities.

  Ensure contractual compliance with the various sources in the organization, including the management of records, participation, and membership agreements, documentation of participants, folders, or other information required by the current program.

  Secure employer participation in relevant programming (such as presentation panels, mentoring, graduation events, or job fairs).

  Coordinate regional activities with municipalities, public agencies, and/or NGOs that are involved in job training, placement, and economic pillar initiatives.

  Conduct evaluation processes of program impact on the participants and evaluate the programs using different measurement methods to ensure quality.

  Provide guidance and facilitate the integration of leaders for the effective implementation of programs.

  Responsible for meeting the programmatic objectives of the proposals that subsidize operations, providing timely and accurate information, and implementing programmatic commitments efficiently.

  Offer academic and personal counseling and follow-up through coaching to establish program goals, monitor performance, and provide positive and constructive feedback aligned with goals.

  Monitor participant progress, resume preparation, job interviews, job opportunities search, and other related actions.

  Be in contact with participants after graduating and/or working professionally, to ensure their retention and optimal job performance.

  Visit participants in job placement, as needed, to train and support their retention and performance.

  Manage situations regarding the work experience of participants during their first three months of employment.

  Keeps appropriate records of participant progress, prepares reports, and communicates progress.

  Perform any other task requested by the supervisor.

  EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  Bachelor’s degree or AA in education, psychology, counseling, social work, human resources, or other related fields from an accredited university.

  Two (2) years or more of experience working in mentoring, social services, career training, job placement, or human resources fields. Prior connection to the community and/or the population being served, with a preference for those in the immediate service area.

  Therapy and Counseling — Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.

  Psychology — Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

  Education and Training — Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

  English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

  Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  Sociology and Anthropology — Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures, and their history and origins.

  Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  Providing Consultation and Advice to Others — Providing guidance and expert advice on technical, systems-, or process-related topics. Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. May reach above shoulder height or below the waist and lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday must be able to lift 15 pounds and use proper lifting techniques.

  Standing or sitting and speaking or listening are regularly required. Ability to use common office equipment such as computers, facsimiles, printers, calculators, etc. You are frequently required to drive motor vehicles.
