  Responsibilities

  The IV technician is an individual who, through didactic and supervised practice, has acquired the knowledge and has developed the skills necessary for the practice of intravenous (IV) placement, troubleshooting, and site care. Performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN. Performs IV insertion in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.

  Qualifications

  High school diploma or successful completion of GED. One year of previous health care (PCA, Phlebotomy, Donor Services) or customer service (retail/service) industry experience.

  Additional Qualifications:

  Able to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume within the clinical setting. Able to independently complete delegated tasks and be self-motivated to complete care in a timely manner.

  Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.

  License or Certification:

  Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS – certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.

  We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers:

  American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider)

  Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)

  Military Training Network

  Exemption Status

  $18.59 - $25.50 / hour

  Schedule Details

  8-hour shifts, Days and EveningsDay (0600-1430 or 0700-1530) and Evening (1500-2330)

  Weekend Schedule

  Every third weekend; 3 of 5 holidays per year
