A managed service provider is looking for an IT Project Manager to help with a government project for one of their clients based in San Diego. This individual will be tasked with overseeing various projects within their client's IT department and implement a strong mix of Agile and Waterfall methodologies. End-to-end knowledge of the SDLC is critical for this position. You will be engaging with stakeholders on a daily basis and utilize strong communication skills to translate projects and solutions into layman's terms for said stakeholders.

Although a lot of the work can be done remotely, our client needs this individual to live within a two hour proximity of San Diego. Upon conversion, you may be required to occasionally go into their Mission Valley office 2-3 times/week depending on the deadlines of specific projects.

Contract Duration: 6 months before conversion

Required Skills Experience

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate stakeholder requirements into actionable solutions.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Proficiency in conducting research and benchmarking activities.

Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.

Experience working with Jira for user story management

Experience working with Smartsheet or MS Project

Desired Skills Experience

Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) and transportation management systems is a plus.

PMP certification is a plus

Proven experience in project management within a public government entity
