JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Purpose To provide safe andeffective clinical services and perform precise collection of researchdata/specimens per protocol to ensure quality control and assurance inclinical research. Primary Functions Section 448.03 of the Wisconsinstatutes defines the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice as follows: Aphysician (PI/Medical Director) may delegate a reasonable scope ofadministrative and clinical tasks (including verbatim transmission ofthe physician\'s medication/prescription, laboratory, and diagnosticimaging orders: venipuncture/phlebotomy; and intramuscular, intradermal,and subcutaneous injections- including vaccinations/immunizations) toknowledgeable and competent unlicensed allied health professionals suchas medical assistants working under their direct/onsite supervision inoutpatient settings. Tasks which constitute the practice of medicine, orwhich the state law permits only certain health care providers toperform, or which require the exercise of professional judgment or themaking of clinical assessments, evaluations, or interpretations,however, may not be delegated to medical assistants.
