The Role: Cloud Engineer Associate
As a Cloud Engineer Associate at Billhighway, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our scalable and secure cloud-based infrastructure. Using your hands-on experience, you will operate our cloud environments, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security, while interacting with and supporting the product development teams. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and is comfortable handling competing priorities in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Eligible hybrid and remote candidates must reside in one of the following states: DC, FL, ID, IN, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV, IL and NH
What you will do:
Act as primary point of contact for system support needs, serving as the cloud technical resource to lead initiatives for adopting secure and high-performance cloud-based solutions, while troubleshooting and resolving performance, connectivity, and related issues.
Ensure system reliability by robust monitoring, handling incident response and technical troubleshooting in a timely fashion.
Develop, implement and manage automation scripts, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure system security by implementing security best practices, as well as monitoring and supporting the troubleshooting of security incidents.
Implement performance improvement and cost reduction of infrastructure, including capacity planning.
Maintain asset management system, update system documentation and diagrams that ensure visibility into infrastructure.
Drive initiatives focused on elevating the overall quality, stability, and reliability of our platforms and cloud infrastructure.
Represent the team by skilled interactions with internal and external clients to inspire confidence, ensure transparency and manage overall expectations.
Handling periodic on-call duty and out-of-band requests
What you will need:
Ability to multi-task by applying strong time-management skills.
1+ years of strong experience working in cloud platform, such as Azure, including extensive understanding of networking concepts, such as VPC, DNS, and VPN.
1+ years of experience working with automation tools, such as Terraform.
1+ years of experience with monitoring tools, such as Pingdom.
1+ years of experience with security best practices, including IAM.
Ability to effectively communicate across organizational boundaries and work in a highly collaborative style with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
BS/BA in related field, and/or relevant work experience.
What will set you apart:
Experience with APM and log aggregation solutions.
Experience in effective use of issue tracking systems, such as Jira.
Relevant cloud certifications.
Experience working with git and CI/CD tools, such as AzureDevOps or Jenkins.
Familiarity with PCI compliance concepts.
