Description

We are in search of an IT Application Manager to join our team in the financial services industry, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role involves overseeing all software development, integration, and business analysis efforts within our IT department. The successful candidate will ensure our core systems meet the evolving needs of our business users and facilitate interaction between IT development staff and various business units.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and efficient running of the company’s core processing systems.

• Modify the company’s core processing systems according to the changing requirements of the business.

• Act as a liaison between the IT department and business units.

• Supervise the software development/business analysis staff.

• Maintain oversight of a portfolio of IT projects.

• Lead software development/business analysis projects within the organization.

• Evaluate business processes for maximum efficiency and compliance.

• Oversee requirements gathering and scope definition efforts across the department.

• Consult with business users to provide advice on efficient business process management.

• Use knowledge of industry best practices to offer advice on business process enhancement.

• Ensure all the company’s core systems are covered in terms of disaster recovery and business continuity.

• Support the IT Director with the oversight and development of IT projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Application Development Project Management or related roles within the Financial Services industry

• Proficiency in Database operations and management

• Demonstrated expertise in Application Development

• Proven experience in managing and executing software deployments

• Strong background in Design within the context of software development

• Familiarity with the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)

• Proficiency in IT project management

• Knowledge of Java programming language

• Experience in Software Asset Management

• Familiarity with Software Configuration Management

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple project timelines concurrently

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred

• Relevant industry certifications would be advantageous.
