OVERVIEW: The Inventory Assistant is an administrative support role,which is an overtime-eligible position that reports to the MaterialsManager. The Inventory Assistant is responsible for helping manage theinventory by processing receipts, logging items that have been receivedand items taken from inventory, labeling, and physically moving productswithin the warehouse. DUTIES: Compile inventory information andpresent it to management for effective decision-making. Conduct cyclecount inventory processes to ensure accurate and timely execution.Schedule categories for cycle count inventory and maintain strictrecords, perform periodic safety stock inspections to ensure allinventory processes are carried out according to requirements. Work withother teams including sales, shipping and purchasing. Accurately inputdata to the inventory system and perform research and analysis to assistwith resolution of inventory problems. At times, the inventory assistantwill physically unload and load inventory trucks and place items withintheir proper place in the inventory room or warehouse. Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure. 5 years of experience inproduction, manufacturing, or inventory fields. Excel and WordKnowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must beable to work during required hours of 8:00 am until 5:00 pm unlessscheduled overtime by the Supervisor. Must have a valid driver\'slicense because some travel is required between three facilities.Preferred: Inventory software knowledge (Syteline, MRP, or ERP systems).Experience in materials management and operations, including cyclecounting. Physical Requirements Able to lift up to 50 poundsoccasionally. Able to move about the inside warehouse as well as betweenthe facilities. This person will spend long hours sitting, using officeequipment such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer, which cancause muscle strain. There are a number of deadlines associated withthis position, which may cause significant stress. Push, pull, carry ormaneuver heavier items with additional labor or appropriate devices.Able to function in extreme hot and cold weather and non-weatherconditions, such as freezers.
