UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a motivated Invasive Cardiac Tech/Invasive Cardiac Tech Adv to join the Electrophysiology Team! Invasive Cardiac Tech starting rate: $29.19/hr.
Invasive Cardiac Tech Adv starting rate: $31.22/hr.
Responsibilities:
Ensures all images within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the PACS, and are properly networked to appropriate electronic record for archival and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the procedures performed.
Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data.
Documents patient history in electronic record as required.
Maintains point of care testing standards, including daily quality control, for devices used for procedures.
Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Exhibits a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems.
Administers contrast under the direction of the procedure physician.
Support other departments as directed or assigned.
Practices with attentiveness to radiation safety for the patient as well as others in the procedure room including appropriate use of lead shielding and monitoring devices.
Assures documentation of patient radiation exposure in electronic record.
Invasive Cardiac Tech Qualifications:
Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS).Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required.
CPR certification is required.
ACLS certification is desired upon hire.
Successful completion of ACLS certification required within orientation period.
ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology OR ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Invasive Cardiac Tech Adv Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS).
2 years of experience in invasive cardiology, vascular and/or electrophysiology.
Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Radiologic Technologist (RT-R). RT-R plus CV certification or RCIS or Cardiovascular Technologist plus RCIS.
CPR and ACLS certification is required.
