Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Geodesy/Surveystudent for a paid summer internship for Summer 2024 at our GreenwoodVillage, CO office. Offers will be extended in March 2024.Timeframe subject to change.Job DescriptionThe Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate studentan opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of surveying. Ourintern will be exposed to a variety of surveying projects includingBoundary, ALTA, Easement, Right of Way, Topographic and As-builtsurveys. These surveys will be based on various methods of data collectionsuch as GPS, total station, photogrammetry, and laser scanning.The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, followschedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good writtenand oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve.Required ExperienceMust be proficient in utilizing AutoCAD.Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation v8, Bentley InRoads, andCarlson Survey is a plus.Ability to do survey related research is desired.Ability to lift 60 lbs.Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditions, i.e., heat,rain, cold, etc.Hike to remote locations.Basic understanding of survey equipment.Ability to travel for periods of up to 4 weeks.Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduatedegree.Pursuing a surveying degree at an A.B.E.T. accredited university is desired.GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
