　　Job Description:

　　Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Drainage Designer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of drainage design of Transportation, Transit, and Municipality projects .

　　What You'll Be Doing:

　　Complete a variety of assignments that may include preliminary and/or detailed designs of drainage and stormwater management works, including basic hydrologic and hydraulic modelling;

　　Development of specifications suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing 3D/2D CAD as applicable;

　　Coordinate work in a multidiscipline team both in-house and sub-consultant firms, in the preparation of design reports, drawings, specification and tender documentation

　　Prepare work plans associated with Request for Proposals, technical memorandums and reports pertaining to drainage and stormwater management designs;

　　Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials, where required to complete an assignment or a specific scope item;

　　Prepare standard engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, and related designs;

　　Review supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses;

　　Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents;

　　Coordinate the work of CAD Designer/Drafters, Junior Designers, and other Engineers/Technicians working on the same project; and

　　Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

　　What Required Skills You'll Bring:

　　Post-secondary education with an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or a Civil Engineering Technologist program from an accredited college;

　　3+ years’ experience in the transportation drainage design engineering. MTO projects experience is desirable

　　Ability to work with various software packages (i.e. Microstation / OpenRoad/OpenRail , AutoCAD / Civil 3D , Microsoft Office, ArcGIS);

　　Experience with roadway design (e.g. drainage, alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, erosion and sediment control, contract documents, constructability, etc.);

　　Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

　　Valid Ontario Drivers’ License.

　　What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

　　Registration with PEO or an OACETT would be an asset;

　　Experience in developing complex drainage and stormwater management strategies for roadway/bridge rehabilitation projects is an asset;

　　Ability to work with various hydrology and hydraulic software packages (i.e., PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, Visual OTTHYMO);
