  The Compliance Officer - EU will be responsible for implementing and expanding, as needed the Convatec ethics & compliance program in the UK and the EU, by implementing or participating in mitigating activities that create undue commercial risk across the region. This includes advising regional, functional and business unit leaders, as well as external stakeholder facing employees about the broad array of regional compliance and legal issues relevant to Convatec’s EU business including, but not limited to: Convatec’s Code of Conduct and industry guidance (e.g., MedTech Code); laws and regulations interpreting the OECD Anti-Bribery convention, including, without limitation, the U.K. Bribery Act, and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (the “FCPA”).

  Location: London or Deeside

  The Compliance Officer – EU will work with the Global Data Protection Officer to assist in implementing the General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”), and with the appropriate Deputy General Counsel or designees to educate employees on data privacy laws, local trade compliance laws and regulations, European competition laws and other laws and regulations that pertain to the sale of medical products in the EU.

  T he Co mp l i a nce Of f i c er - EU w i l l :

  Provide ethics & compliance leadership across all markets within the UK and the EU and set an appropriate tone of mid-level functional leadership within the Legal Group;

  Collaborate with business leaders in the UK and EU on setting standards of conduct, including a regular review and update of global and regional ethics & compliance policies;

  Develop specific local requirements or leverage existing content to educate employees on ethics and compliance policies, procedures, guidance, and industry codes pertaining to medical device manufacturer sales and promotional activities;

  Assist with the management of third-party risks, including the conduct of channel partner due diligence and other third-party risk management to assure consistency with ethics and compliance requirements;

  Conduct compliance risk assessments for the EUregion;

  Manage and update the compliance monitoring plan for the EU and implement the plan through monitoring of employee and third-party commercial activities;

  Assist with internal investigations in the EU region or in other Convatec business locations or jurisdictions;

  Engage with relevant medical technology industry trade associations, industry research and benchmarking organizations and relevant government agencies;

  Collaborate with members of the Human Resources, Regulatory, IT Departments and other centers of excellence on company-wide initiatives;

  Lead the compliance steering committee for the EU Region;

  Advise EU leadership on compliance matters relevant to commercial initiatives;

  Participate on global Infusion Care leadership team, while providing guidance to functional business unit leadership on strategic ethics & compliance issues, as well as on relevant industry practices and regulation.

  Collaborate with Medical and Clinical Affairs,Regulatory Clinical Affairs and Legal colleagues on matters relating to product clearance and promotion;

  Anticipate and proactively identify compliance issues that could adversely affect Convatec’s risk profile.

  Keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry developments and assess their impact on the Company’s compliance program in the EU.

  B. P rinc ipa l C ont a c t s

  The Compliance Officer—EU will report to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and will support EU leadership teams. She or he will collaborate closely with global franchise presidents, regional country managers, Finance, Human Resources, Regulatory, IT, Data Privacy, Medical, Clinical, and Corporate Affairs, as well as sales and marketing professionals.

  C . T r a vel R e q u i rem e n t s :

  The position will require business travel throughout the EU region and occasional travel to the Eastern United States. Travel is not expected to exceed 25% of the time for the position.

  The ideal candidate must have extensive compliance or legal experience, preferably with a medical device, pharmaceutical or related health care company.

  A background in general EU compliance and legal matters, and anti-corruption laws is required.

  Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) is required, and law degree (or equivalent) is preferred.

  Excellent leadership, oral presentation skills and robust, yet concise written communication skills are required.

  Good judgment, the ability to comprehend and analyze complex matters, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, a high level of diligence and the ability to work well collaboratively, knowing when to escalate matters for collaboration with functional leadership
