ABOUT THE ROLE
The Traffic Signal or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technicianis responsible for the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of ITSand traffic signal systems including traffic signal cabinets, loop detectionsystems, and traffic signal electronics.This position will be covered by a collective bargaining agreement and is aunion position. SturgeonElectric has experience performing projects under Integrated Lean ProjectDelivery methods, and also offers pre-construction services, in-housepre-fabrication capabilities, and Building Information Modeling (BIM)capabilitEssential FunctionsInstallation and preventive maintenance of ITS devices including CCTV,Dynamic Message Signs, Microwave Vehicle Detection, and weather monitoringsystemsAbility to read/interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, etc.Responds to corrective maintenance requests or alarms within an acceptabletime frameDiagnoses and repairs hardware, software, and system issuesIsolation of faults in units or componentsConstruction experience preferredAdditional responsibilities as directed by the Foreman/Construction ManagerABOUT YOU
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is required
Basic understanding of network switches, fiber optic patch panels andcabling used for network devices
AC / DC Electrical Experience and ability to troubleshoot circuits safelyusing Multimeters or other test equipment
Familiar with Cat5/Cat6 and COAX cable terminations and testing
Thorough knowledge of current desktop technologies and communications softwareincluding serial communications, and TCP/IP conceptElectrical construction experience preferredWHAT WE OFFER
Compensation & BenefitsThis will be a union position.$24.75 - $39.83 per hour. Wage depends on experience andcertifications, and benefits are detailed within the applicable collectivebargaining agreement.Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may includebackground check and drug testing.
