The Financial Analysis Division of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department is actively recruiting candidates for the position of Insurance Company Financial Analyst 1.   DESCRIPTION OF WORK

  As an Insurance Company Financial Analyst 1, your responsibilities will involve acquiring, examining, and evaluating insurer financial statements on an annual and quarterly basis, along with any supplementary regulatory filings. This will encompass a range of documents such as audited financial reports, actuarial opinions, management's discussion and analysis, holding company filings, Risk Based Capital (RBC) reports, Enterprise Risk Reports, Own Risk Solvency Assessments (ORSAs), Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) Disclosure Statements, Qualified Unlicensed Reinsurers (QURs) annual financial statements, Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure Statement, and additional filings. Your objective will be to assess compliance with statutes and regulations, supporting the department's oversight of licensed insurers and providers to safeguard policyholders and consumers.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment.

  Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  Successful completion of the Insurance Company Financial Analyst Trainee program (commonwealth title);or

  One year of professional experience in insurance, accounting, finance, economics, business administration, risk-management, or a closely related field; and a bachelor’s degree which includes 15 college credits in accounting, finance, or auditing;or

  An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 15 college credits in accounting, finance, or auditing.
