Installation Engineer

Following our recent acquisition by ASSA ABLOY and our continued success in the UK market, Biosite is expanding its team. Joining our Installation department, the Install/Service Engineer will be responsible for championing the Biosite proposition and successfully delivering the Installation of its workforce management access control solution across the UK. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop the role and make their mark in what is a rapidly growing technology company leading the way in workforce management for construction.
Location
This is a field based engineer role covering the south east of the UK, working both within a team of other engineers and lone working.
Main responsibilities and tasks
Installation –
Attendance and completion of Installation Visits
Installation of Access Control, Wireless Fire Alarms, Wired & Wireless CCTV and structured network cabling
Commissioning of Installations to include functional tests and technical sign offs with Technical Support
Managing own van stock and ordering replacement stock with Stores Team
Maintaining exemplary standards to build rapport with customers
Adherence to Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations
Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated
Key working relationships (internal and external)
Reporting to Install supervisor and Install Manager on progress of works
Liaising with other trades on site to ensure Installations are completed
Rapport building and listening to customers needs and adapting to changes
Person Profile: Essential qualifications, experience, knowledge, and behaviours
Well organised and punctual
Excellent Communication Skills both verbal and written
Good problem solver
Ability to work on own initiative
Ethical and trustworthy
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
3 years’ experience in security service/installation of access control or similar SELV cabling role
Valid Driver's Licence is essential
Desirable
Strong construction industry knowledge
Computer literacy and understanding of PC hardware
A good understanding of electrical wiring and equipment
A good understanding of networking and routing
Valid ECS/CSCS Card is preferable.
Experience of engaging with customers in a high pressured
IPAF, PASMA and 3-day first aid preferable
