Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, this Assistant Controller position is a short-term contract / contract employment opportunity. We're looking for candidates who are self-starters, and who combine a real passion for analytics with strong technical skills.

　　Major responsibilities

　　Assist in developing the accounting team, which includes staffing, performance management, and training

　　Prepare and manage account reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts

　　Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to participating in system improvements, impromptu analyses, and special projects as assigned

　　Take on coordination and leadership over external financial audits

　　Supply external monthly and quarterly reporting packages to Board meeting decks

　　Handle treasure function to ensure cash forecasts are accurate and vendors are paid in a timely manner

　　Provide GAAP mentorship for technical accounting, external reporting, and support to the Company

　　Finish month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, as well as financial statements

　　Uphold accounting and reporting policies

　　Handle monthly financial executive package and control book to include budget to actual comparisons by department Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

　　Forward thinking mentality, ability to anticipate needs and pre-plan work

　　Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)

　　SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

　　Previous industry experience

　　Journal entries experience

　　Month end closings experience desired

　　Strong familiarity with fixed assets

　　Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

　　Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

　　Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　High attention to detail

　　Expert Microsoft Excel skills required

　　Ability to multitask effectively

　　Bachelor degree in Accounting

　　Relevant industry experience (preferred)
