Job Summary:Generac\'s Industrial Engineering Intern position is responsible to workwith other engineers to fulfill special design requests on our products.Under supervision of engineers, the intern will create definitions ofparts and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models,tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to supportanalysis, manufacturing, assembly and service. You will also createPro-E models, drawings and templates as well as make changes to BOM\'s.Participants develop technical skills through challenging assignmentsand usage of technical tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide new product development support in the Industrial, Commercial,and/or Retail generator product area including; Creating and maintainingCAD models, drawings, and BOMs, Supporting product development plans(schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs), Interfacing withinternal company personnel, Provide technical support for assignedprojects. Specifies precise new product functional requirements;designs, tests and integrates standard, less complex components toproduce final designs; and evaluates the design\'s overalleffectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (riskanalysis), and safety. Designs, develops, executes and evaluatesfitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validationplans for standard products and/or components; creates and reviewsmaterial part specifications and bills of materials. Collaborates withinternal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers andproduct specialists to optimize basic designs for manufacturability.Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.Supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meetingdesign inputs) Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing a BS degree(preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding or working knowledge ofPro-E and/or AutoCAD experience.
