Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in San Francisco, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves tasks such as posting bank transactions, reviewing invoice coding, and handling prepaid and fixed asset journal entries and reconciliations, among other key accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data by posting and reconciling daily bank transactions
• Prepare and record general ledger entries to reflect bank transactions
• Assist in the month-end close process by preparing and entering journal entries related to prepaid and fixed asset
• Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and resolve discrepancies
• Assist in the creation of financial reports and schedules, providing insights into financial performance
• Monitor and track expenses, ensuring documentation is in line with company policies
• Collaborate cross-functionally to review and take action on failed customer payments
• Prepare daily cash flow reports to support financial decision-making
• Assist in responding to external audit requests and prepare documentation for year-end audits
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in accounting procedures
• Take on ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in accounting
• Proven experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Demonstrated knowledge of General Ledger
• Experience in making Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
