Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Event Assistant in the Events/Exhibitions industry in San Diego, CA. This role involves a range of tasks related to event organization and execution, including the setup of events, registration assistance, and post-event tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the setup of events to ensure a smooth operation
• Distributing badges to participants as part of the registration process
• Providing excellent customer service by assisting attendees with their registration and inquiries
• Packing up supplies box after the event has concluded
• Lifting heavy items as part of event setup and pack up
• Monitoring event activities and responding to any issues or inquiries from attendees
• Maintaining a high level of professionalism and efficiency in all tasks
• Adhering to all safety guidelines during event setup and tear down
• Collaborating with the event team to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
• Providing support to other event staff as required to ensure a successful event.
Requirements • Possess excellent customer service skills with a proven record of building long-term relationships with clients and partners.
• Have experience working in events, exhibitions, or a related field, with a good understanding of logistics and planning.
• Capable of lifting heavy objects as the job may require setting up and dismantling exhibition booths.
• Proficient in using modern technology tools and software needed for event planning and management.
• Show strong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exhibit the ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Possess problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Show flexibility in working hours as the role may require working in evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on the event schedules.
• Have a professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to event planning and execution would be advantageous.
• A valid driver's license may be beneficial for transportation needs related to the role.
