  Position Summary

  To continuously improve quality and provide cost savings on golf ball manufacturing projects by devising efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service. To provide improvement in all areas of golf ball production.

  Responsibilities

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Review processes and develop ways to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and use of people, machines material or any other part of the process. Develop and deploy OEE methodologies to specific operations as determined by Plant Operations.

  Increase productivity and optimize operating methods through Engineering time studies and analysis.

  Lead Kaizen/small improvement teams to develop, document, and implement specific improvements.

  Responsible for overall layout, Labeling, and flow of the plant to include new and existing equipment, material storage areas, machine side inventories and operating tools through a standardized plant workplace organization scheme.

  Standardize the documentation of Standard work, Standard Operating procedures and Process Condition cards. Responsible for the coordination of changes between Process specialists and Training department.

  Lead root cause analysis for large quality excursions.

  Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in manufacturing and services in order to optimize labor productivity.

  Establish how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiency.

  Along with Process Specialists, develop and implement cost management systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient.

  Other duties may be assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent course of study. 3-5 years of Experience working in Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Black Belt preferred but not required. Experience working in Auto Cad preferred but not required.

  LANGUAGE SKILLS

  Speak clearly so listeners can understand. Listen to others and ask questions. Read and understand work-related materials.

  Understand spoken information. Write clearly so other people can understand. Understand written information. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  Ability to use math skills to solve problems. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and correctly, in all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Choose a mathematical method or formula to solve problems. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  REASONING ABILITY

  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, materials and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.

  Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

  Ability to understand technical plans, blue prints, drawings and models.

  Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, environment and other conditions will affect outcomes.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. For most job tasks at a standard desk and chair; in meetings; to meet others at their offices. The employee is will work in the production environment when required by the job. The employee must moderately lift/move/push/pull up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; to read and write.

  WORK ENVIRONMENT

  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the office and in the production facility and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles while working in the production area. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the office environment is quiet and in the plant work environment is usually loud.
