Performs highly complex data science and data analysis work related to enterprise level analysis of digital transportation datasets. Responsible for supporting projects and program delivery by leading team engaged in the gathering and analyzing of data and datasets to guide business decisions and solutions for engineering projects. Work involves designing and constructing new processes for data modeling and production using prototypes, algorithms, predictive modeling to assist with developing technology solutions by evolving business practices. Serves as a Lead Worker. Work requires extensive contact with high-level executives, managers, and governmental agencies. Reports to the Engineering Operations Support Section Manager. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties: Performs quality assurance and serves as a subject matter expert on data integrity, extraction, and compilation.Develops reports, dashboards and interactive visualizations using different components of Tableau software including Tableau desktop, Tableau Prep, and Tableau server. Manages and maintains the Tableau Server and Desktop Developer environmentCollaborates with data modelers and data integration architects/developers to establish end-to-end data and information delivery architecture that ensures enterprise governance alignmentServes as a lead worker to TxDOT employees by serving as a resource for complex questions and providing technical training; providing input on employeesandrsquo; career conversations; approving employeesandrsquo; leave requests to ensure operations coverage; and presenting workflow and operational updates to the supervisor/manager.Develops and implements enterprise databases, data collection systems, and data analytics related to transportation programs Researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions; and research analytics products to develop new or improved predictive modeling products to facilitate project and program delivery by use of evolving business practices Develops and manages Transportation Projects and Digital Roadway Data use cases for trend analysis, predictive modeling, statistical modeling, artificial intelligence, and dashboard reporting using visualizations Develops and implements enterprise databases, data collection systems, and data analyticsOversees automation of enterprise data collection and data cleansing. Design and construct new processes for data modeling and production using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis Develops data quality measures and implements data quality improvements.
