Job Description Income Tax Accountant 212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987 HEADD Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Income Tax Accountant, you will enjoy the opportunity to participate in an energetic work environment while ensuring the company complies with federal, state and foreign income tax obligations and accounting for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: oAssisting with preparation of tax returns by gathering and analyzing data, preparing workpapers and working with external advisors to ensure timely tax payments and filing of tax returns oAssisting with financial statement accounting for income taxes by preparing quarterly and annual work papers, analyzing tax related accounts, and helping with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting procedures oSupporting income tax examination activities by gathering information requested by the auditor oAnalyzing and documenting the pricing of transactions between related business entities oCompleting special projects and other administrative tasks, as required REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess or are working towards a bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Business, Finance related area OR have relevant work experience o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: oExperience with accounting for income taxes and/or tax return preparation oProficient using PeopleSoft ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
